In the garden, after they ate the fruit, why did they make clothes for themselves all of a sudden? They innately knew they were not in the same position or standing with Him once they had chosen to break the rule. That was the really sad knowledge they received. That they had chosen their separation from Him, by failing to respect the authority He had as their Creator. Innately they knew they’d been duped. They realized their weakness in being the creation, not the creator. The error was viewing it a weakness and not a blessing to be the created in the first place. But Gods’ plan B allows us to choose to be back with Him in the garden now, and Heaven after. The story of the prodigal son/daughter is paramount in understanding His love for us. Maybe people just don’t know what they actually get when they come back into His presence like before. It’s the peace everyone subconsciously seeks. That’s by design. We have a hole in our soul that can only be filled through a personal relationship with God.
The original sin of Satan was to want to be like God, or to be equal with God. That smacks of arrogance to me. When I look around the world, and all of creation, I recognize that I didn’t make any of this, and neither did he! Satan has been tempting us all to make the same choice he did ever since. And we all succumb to some extent. In some way, we all have sinned. Making us unworthy of being in the direct presence of God Almighty.
Luke 15:11-32 The Prodigal Son
11 And he said, “There was a man who had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.’ And he divided his property between them. 13 Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living. 14 And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to[a] one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs. 16 And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything.
17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.”’ 20 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’[b] 22 But the father said to his servants,[c] ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. 23 And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. 24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.
25 “Now his older son was in the field, and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and sound.’ 28 But he was angry and refused to go in. His father came out and entreated him, 29 but he answered his father, ‘Look, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your property with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him!’ 31 And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. 32 It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.’”
Through His plan laid out in the Bible, upon receiving salvation, we are a new creation. All things are made new. We should embody spring time, all year round. He wants to hang out with us again. But we just have to first be cleansed of the sin in order to be allowed direct access. Enter plan B! We may want for what we do to not be wrong on any level, yet innately somehow know it to be, all the same. Whether you believe in The God of the Bible yet or not, you instinctively know right from wrong. Anyone who doesn’t is misguided or lying to himself). It’s all in the original design. But contrary to peoples beliefs, or denial of truth, the sin is ours, not His. Adam and Eve broke the rule, that’s considered sin. Since God is holy, sin is not allowed in His presence. So they had to leave His garden. Romans 6:23 says: “The wages of (payment for) sin is death (or hell), but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.” ESV
I bet He was disappointed when Adam and Eve made their choice because He knew what would transpire. Parents want their children to do all the right things. When they don’t, it is understood that the parent who loves, corrects and teaches. For their good. As parents, we want to raise people we will want to hang out with later in life. God’s heartbreak must have been in the loss of daily companionship with Adam and Eve. But man did He ever have a plan B. It’s like He gave us a second chance to make the right choice.
Accepting the truth of the Bible, unfortunately, is hard for most people to accept. It’s not actually difficult, unless you suffer from ego or vanity or public approval. Then it may seem untenable. For you, it’s a difficult decision, to sacrifice your temporary image on earth and trade it for your eternity in heaven . If heaven is real, then so is hell, and all the rest of it. Which means a plan has been set in motion from before the dawn of time. But Mark 8:36 aptly says, “But what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?”
The decision in His garden to disobey the only rule in the place, gave the authority God had given to Adam and Eve humans to rule over the earth, to fallen angel, Satan. They were tricked into signing authority over to him. For a time. Again, thank God for his plan B. If you choose Him, you will never taste Death. Not really. The Bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with God. Um, yes please. I can only imagine.
You need to read the entire Bible to see the whole picture. If you just take a verse here or there and make that your whole theology library, you’ll be like a person standing three inches from a wall holding a wall sized tapestry. You can only see one, maybe two different colors within your purview from 3 inches away. But if you stood 30 feet away you would see the whole piece of art. The whole rainbow of colors interwoven with such finite detail. Until you really read and research the whole Bible, you are only seeing a color or two. How can you actually know if it’s for real or for you if you haven’t even educated yourself completely? You can’t comprehend its meaning and purpose without actually reading the whole dang thing. It all makes sense when you take it all in and you really open your eyes. (This, Be-Linda, is why Jesus is necessary. He’s the most important part of Gods’ redeeming plan B for us all.)
I triple dog dare you. Then reach out to me, so we can discuss it.
