For everything I see and do in this life, my goal is for it to be viewed through “God colored glasses”. What are rose colored glasses? Good, you get it. For the record, I suck at it. But it’s good to have good goals, right? I try to see things how God wants me to see it. Because there’s usually more going on than meets the eye. Who or what or how do you view your thoughts or beliefs or opinions through? Do you use a filter at all, or just wing it?
I think of the author of “The Untethered Soul” by Michael A Singer. I listened to his conversation on a podcast recently, and a sweet friend recommended the book to me recently as well. I made it through the sample so far. However, at first impressions, I think he dances on the edge of the fence of going “All in for Jesus” at least publicly, and I can’t quite tell if he does or doesn’t believe in the God of the Bible…which if true, seems puzzling.
So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.
Where do you get your strength? What do you think is going on in our world today? I would like to know where people get their belief system, what it looks like, and if they’re up for it, share my view whenever it’s applicable to the conversation. I have no interest in preaching to anyone. But I do love a good healthy dialog where both sides are heard. And respected.
These are the most important conversations we should be having with anyone we claim to care about. And maybe we could discuss some good old fashioned morals here and there, because what the heck could it hurt, right? Social media is boring. I got sick of being glued to my phone, be it from addiction or boredom. Let’s bring back spending quality time having real, healthy conversations about the things that really matter in the here and now.
I am praying that everyone that either listens to or reads this all the way to its conclusion would join me in my new hobby adventure. Hopefully you will be able to handle me the way I currently am on my walk with the Lord. For those who would critique it on the basis of going against the modern Americanized version of Christianity, I beg you view me through those God-lensed glasses – you can suss it out if you really try. Seek out real truth in the Bible. Don’t be a Pharisee. Judge not, lest ye be judged…
Fire and brimstone is not the be all end all version of Christianity any more than you can only be a certain type of demographic to be allowed through Church doors. Please recognize that there are so many different varieties of personalities out there. How many of those people that hold up “The end is near” signs on the side of the road are reaching souls for Jesus? “Shoot.” (Tuh-Mater) There is one Holy Spirit, and We Ain’t It. I’m not looking for a debate, but I can handle one if you can. Prove me wrong and I’ll concede. Or at least pray about it. Interested?
I haven’t even begun to get into the spiritual warfare that no one is discussing for some crazy reason. There is so much to talk about. Please give HNR a listen, and share with someone in your life that may be a great candidate for my vibe; If you aren’t, no worries, just then do me a solid, and be praying for me.
The Whole Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and shaving put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
This makes me think of the book by Frank Peretti “This Present Darkness”. Read it and you will understand what I’m trying to explain, and then maybe we could have some common ground to discuss. Like having a jumping off point, comprehension curiosity of the topic at hand will be necessary. If we were discussing Egypt I’d direct you to whatever I had read that helped me get to my current belief, opinion or knowledge. The challenge is to read the book and then want to discuss it with little ol’ me. Same goes for the Bible. Read it, and we’ll talk.
Love,
Peach 🙂
p.s. I am making this little write up available on a little recording, because all three of my children sadly loathe reading. However, in order to cram various books down into their brains, I would happily read aloud to all of them for the ultimate positive end result of getting that book into their knowledge database. I wish I had done that their whole childhoods. The point is, in case you are reading this like I would have if I were just here to check this out for whatever reason, know you can find it read aloud in the podcast section of this website, for sharing with your non reading loved ones.
